Created with the non-conditioning support of IBSA Italy and the endorsement of the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE, Società Italiana di Endocrinologia), and in collaboration with Sonia Peronaci, food blogger and founder of GialloZafferano, the campaign Dal Palato alla Tiroide (“From Palate to Thyroid”) continues its mission to raise awareness of the connection between diet and thyroid disorders, which affect approximately 6 million people in Italy. The goal is to provide practical advice and dispel the numerous myths about thyroid health and its relationship with food.
At the press conference Disturbi tiroidei, la prevenzione parte dalla tavola (“Thyroid disorders: prevention starts at the table”) – held in Milan and moderated by journalist Irma D’Aria – the book Dal Palato alla Tiroide (“From Palate to Thyroid”) was presented, a collection of recipes designed for those who want to improve their diet with a focus on thyroid well-being, offering practical and tasty solutions. The recipe book is the result of a collaboration between food enthusiasts, Sonia Peronaci, and two specialists: Annamaria Colao, Full Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, UNESCO Chair of Health and Sustainable Development Education, University of Naples Federico II; and Maria Grazia Castagna, Associate Professor in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Department of Medical/Surgical Sciences and Neuroscience at the University of Siena and Head of the Endocrinology Complex Operational Unit of the University Hospital Division in Siena.
