Disegni di genere (“Gender Drawings”): how to fight gender discrimination and violence against women

IBSA Italy is proud to support Fondazione Onda ETS, the National Observatory on women and gender’s health, active since 2005 and aimed at fighting gender discrimination and violence against women.

Every year, the Fondazione organises an Open Week against violence on women, during which hospitals with the BollinoRosa (the “Pink Stamp”, a recognition awarded to hospitals that are particularly attentive to women’s health) offer free support and advisory services to raise public awareness of these crucial issues and provide concrete help to those who need it.

Thanks to the project DISEGNI DI GENERE (“GENDER DRAWINGS”), launched last July, light has been shed on the discriminatory behaviours that unfortunately still permeate our daily lives, inviting illustrators, designers, students and new talents to create works representing scenes of gender discrimination, with the aim of promoting reflection and debate on these issues.

An approach that has made it possible to reach a vast and diverse audience, raising awareness not only among women, but among the entire society and promoting a bottom-up cultural change with regard to often unnoticed gender discriminations. The winning image of the competition will become the symbol of the awareness campaign of the Open Week 2024, which will be held from 21 to 27 November, while another ten selected works will be used for further awareness-raising activities.

The initiative is part of a broader commitment by IBSA Italy in the field of corporate social responsibility, with projects aimed at supporting communities and promoting sustainability and parity, the protection of women’s rights and the promotion of gender equality. The fight against violence and discrimination involves education, awareness-raising and contributing to the construction of a fairer and more inclusive society, where everyone can have the same opportunities, regardless of gender.
