Vitamin in “orodispersible film” carries the day at the Life Science Excellence Awards 2021

IBSA FilmTec® technology is a concrete example of IBSA Farmaceutici's long-standing commitment to research and development of innovative, high-quality technologies capable of improving traditional oral administration methods. In particular, as a result of the collaboration between IBSA Farmaceutici and Pharmafilm, a spin-off of the University of Milan, IBSA FilmTec® technology, which is behind the success of IBSA Vitamin D3, received a double accolade during the Life Science Excellence Awards evening: 


•    Excellence and Top Excellence Award for the Best Consumer Health Project Award for the Best Consumer Health Project.

The double accolade assigned to IBSA Vitamin D3 (Excellence e Top Excellence) with the patented IBSA FilmTec® technology rewards IBSA's Made in Italy innovation able to develop on an industrial scale a new form of oral administration, the orodispersible film, which allows administering active or functional ingredients in an film the size of a postage stamp.


The "TOP" projects, which have contributed to excellence and innovation in the health sector, were selected by 500.000 professionals including doctors, pharmacists and members of the Popular Science Community, who for six months had the opportunity to vote for the projects already rated "Excellence" by the Panel of Judges which awarded the prize.
The awards were presented in the presence of representatives of the political and institutional world, including the Hon. Angela Ianaro, President of the Parliamentary Science & Health intergroup, the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Achille Iachino (Medicines and Medical Devices) and academic figures such as the University Rectors Antonella Polimeni (Sapienza), Orazio Schillaci (Tor Vergata) and Emilia Zankina (Temple University) and the President of Farmindustria Massimo Scaccabarozzi.


Thanks to its know-how, cutting-edge technologies and collaboration with doctors and research institutes, IBSA is able to find therapeutic solutions closer to treatment requirements capable of increasing patient awareness.
