Emotion, joy, enthusiasm, pride, satisfaction: many were the feelings that characterised a day entirely dedicated to the project Sailing into the Future. Together. A real celebration took indeed place last Friday in the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer, in Brittany, for the launch of the IBSA Class40, the brand new boat with which Alberto Bona will participate in the Route du Rhum. The transatlantic regatta is the first major sporting event that IBSA, together with the ocean sailor, started at the beginning of 2022.
The small but famous Breton port was the setting for the event, which took place in the presence of Arturo Licenziati, President and CEO of the IBSA Group, several corporate representatives from Switzerland, Italy and France, Alberto Bona and his entire team; a very important stage of the project, which officially marks the start of the countdown to the Route du Rhum 2022 – Destination Guadeloupe, starting on November 6 from Saint-Malo.
“Sailing into the Future. Together is the three-year international project that we strongly pursued, because it combines several, distinctive elements: innovation, commitment, environmental and social responsibility”, stated President Licenziati. “The whole project and this first great sporting challenge that we are preparing to face give us the opportunity to introduce to the world our vision, values and Pillars (Person, Innovation, Quality and Responsibility), the same ones that we share with sport, and with sailing in particular”.
And along the docks – where some of the most prestigious trimarans that have gone around the world and made the history of ocean sailing are moored – the IBSA Class40 was launched by Francesca Licenziati, niece of the President.
